Ayrshire's Waste Company

Barr Environmental Limited employs 25 site staff and 5 managers, and is based within Ayrshire and adjacent areas. We have held and operated the East Ayrshire Council waste disposal contract since 1996, and South Ayrshire Council's waste disposal contract since 1998.

Our plans for the future in Ayrshire are to develop a fully integrated waste management company offering modern, purpose build waste management facilities to recylce, recover and treat wast - with only residual non-value waste being sent to our landfill sites.

Building on the Kilmarnock waste management facility which has been in operation at Southhook for East Ayrshire Council for a number of years, a similar facility has been created in 2007 for South Ayrshire Council at Heathfield in Ayr.
