Barr Environmental Limited provides a contracted waste service at Garlaff landfill site for East Ayrshire and South Ayrshire councils. Auchencarroch landfill site services Inverclyde, West Dunbartonshire and Argyll & Bute Councils.

For East Ayrshire Council, BEL own and operate Southhook waste transfer station in Kilmarnock where the Council's refuse collection vehicles deliver household waste. It is then transferred into BEL's trailers for onward transportation to Garlaff at Cumnock. Green waste is also separately collected by the council and transported by BEL to Garlaff where it is shredded and composted within a dedicated area on site.

BEL owns and operates a civic amenity site at Garlaff, as well as an on-site waste transfer station which receives locally generated East Ayrshire Council waste - removing the need for council refuse collection vehicles to run onto the landfill site itself, reducing wear and tear on their vehicles. BEL collect and dispose of the Council waste on-site using a dedicated shunter and trailers.
