The Safety Drive

As construction projects become increasingly complex with additional pressure on project programmes, a commitment to health and safety has never been more important.

Barr Construction has developed an innovative way to deliver the safety message to their team and supply chain. A double-decker bus, bedecked with the Barr livery and the slogan "Live Safe, Work Safe" toured the country in 2006.

The bus was the focal point for a number of training presentations delivered by the Barr Safety Team. The Safety Drive will reinforce the Company's policies and procedures to staff, suppliers and clients alike and will illustrate the reasons why safety is so important.

It is hoped that this pilot initiative devised by the Company's retail unit will be a success and similar tours will be arranged for other divisions and units within the group.

With a forward order book in excess of £250m, the Safety Drive is fully supported by the Barr board of directors who have singled out health and safety as the number one priority in successfully delivering future projects.
